What is it?
HotspotLeader is a billing solution for WiFi hotspots. It uses the
Captive Portal technology, which allows you to require your
customers to authenticate before using your wireless hotspot.
It immediately recognizes new end-users on the network, remembers
returning users and redirects their browser to a customized web portal page.
Customers can login using Surf Codes (login & pass) purchased from you or
by paying online with their credit cards or PayPal accounts (no merchant
account required). After that they can search the Net as long as they
still have time on their accounts. There's no need for end-users to change any of
their network settings or load any special software to access your Hotspot
services...its completely plug and play with any browser!
We create SurfCodes for you and handle all the billing and subscriber
management. We process
credit cards and then send money either to your PayPal or bank account.

The System's setup
Our complete solution for hotspots includes Linksys WRT54GL router
pre-installed with HotspotLeader agent firmware, which connects to our
online Linux server that contains information on customer
accounts. This is a far more reliable approach than a simple
Windows-based WiFi billing application installed on a PC with two
network cards since our system makes it completely
impossible for unauthorized users to connect to your hotspot.
We host and maintain the server, and can remotely control and adjust the
settings of the router. You will not have to do it yourself. In fact the
only thing you will have to do to get started is plug the Internet cable
into the router. That's it!
